Players can also play co-op with zombies, Mark Lamia, head of Activision's Treyarch Studio, said in a statement. But as with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, many gamers will be picking up the title for its online multiplayer offering. And to that end, Lamia promises an "incredibly deep" experience for gamers.

So far, the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops has gone quite well. Video game retailer GameStop reported today that the title "set a new record with reservations." GameStop's senior vice president of merchandising, Bob McKenzie, said that Black Ops has bested "any other title in GameStop's history."

However, Black Ops has some huge boots to fill. Its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, was the biggest launch in gaming history. More so, it was the biggest launch in the history of the entertainment industry, according to Guinness World Records, grossing $401.6 million on launch day last year. Trying to match that success could be a tall order for the latest release in the Call of Duty franchise.

Call of Duty: Black Ops comes in three versions. The standard edition comes only with the game and sells for $60 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. The Hardened Edition comes with a Black Ops medal, an Avatar outfit, and four zombie co-op maps. It retails for $80. The Prestige Edition's main attraction is an RC-XD Surveillance Vehicle, which transmits video and audio back to the user up to 200 feet away. It sells for $150.
Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-45049702398476487242009-09-02T18:56:00.000-07:002009-09-02T18:57:30.232-07:00How to Host Boot / IP Flood / DDos

A short video on how to setup a No-Ip for Host booting.Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-17580511569549417852009-07-02T13:34:00.025-07:002010-11-17T17:03:20.615-08:00New Resident Evil Film By September 2010 [Rumor]

Director <a class="autolink" title="Click here to read more posts tagged PAUL W.S. Well all this is possible with the simple and easy use of this state of the art website.

First things first, you need an account to get started. Head on over to the Rewards Website and sign up for a free account. My number one suggestion after signing up is to create a new yahoo or hotmail email account for the offers. This will get rid of the spam mail and you won't have to worry about it again.

After you’ve got your account set up go the site and sign in. Click on “available offers” then I would suggest that you select “free” offers. There are some new offers in the new offers available you can do too. Most of these offers are extremely easy to complete. All that is required of you is to enter your email and an address and you will be ready to go. Once you receive 50 - 60 points you can get anything of your liking, such as free microsoft points, free cell phones, free jewelry, and of course free video games. Even if you say you don't want anything there, they have a custom order, where you can get anything and I mean anything you want. I mostly use the website for free microsoft points, free video games, and new stuff when my stuff breaks.

Don't worry about offers running out, because I get many over the course of a month. It's enjoyable to be able to fill out a few boxes and receive my free video games and free Microsoft Points. You can get many other things on the Rewards Site. You can even get games for your other consoles if that's what your looking for. They are only 25 - 59 credits. So simply sign up and start getting free video games and free microsoft points, etc...

If you sign up for this don’t forget to check out the following post that includes a list of a bunch of offers that only require an email address for you to get your credits. It will get you one step closer (even though there are very few steps) to your free video games and free Microsoft Points.Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-3614709597483124412009-04-13T19:13:00.000-07:002010-11-17T17:13:44.586-08:00They Call It "Best FPS Sniper Rifle"
Strangely enough for a game that’s got everybody so nitpicky and middling in their scores the one place that Killzone 2 excels is in it’s weaponry, specifically the sniper rifle. According to the company, “It’s about real people having emotional and connected Xbox gaming and entertainment experiences with their friends and family.”

The pre-Christmas marketing blitz is set to include television, billboard and print ads, as well as retail displays and digital marketing around the world, supported by PR outreach, social networking and direct customer communication efforts.

The marketing kicked off on Friday in the US and will debut in Europe this Thursday, emphasizing the relatively cheap Xbox 360 entry price of $199 / £129.99, the "New Xbox Experience" launching this fall and the system’s lineup of upcoming titles.

Microsoft said in a press release that “the campaign will be particularly critical in EMEA, where we are focused on shifting brand perception and driving re-appraisal of the platform in a very competitive region with entrenched competition.”

As in the US, European ads will air during top-rated shows across TV networks in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-24205028489361306142008-09-18T17:10:00.000-07:002008-09-18T17:19:52.783-07:00Gates and Seinfeld Ads Will Be No More!
Remember those awful Microsoft ads with Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld? Well, now you can forget them. Microsoft flacks are desperately dialing reporters to spin them about "phase two" of the ad campaign — a phase, due to be announced tomorrow, which will drop the aging comic altogether. Microsoft's version of the story: Redmond had always planned to drop Seinfeld. The awkward reality: The ads only reminded us how out of touch with consumers Microsoft is — and that Bill Gates's company has millions of dollars to waste on hiring a has-been funnyman to keep him company. Update: In a phone call, Waggener Edstrom flack Frank Shaw confirms that Microsoft is not going on with Seinfeld, and echoes his underlings' spin that the move was planned. There is the "potential to do other things" with Seinfeld, which Shaw says is still "possible." He adds: "People would have been happier if everyone loved the ads, but this was not unexpected." Update: CPB confirms that Seinfeld spots already in the can will not be aired.Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-46736710903507017592008-09-12T03:41:00.000-07:002010-11-17T17:17:14.156-08:00Ten Xbox 360 Tricks Microsoft Doesn't Want You to Know!
1. Connect your Xbox 360 to two screens at once

If you've got one of the component/composite dual video cables – the one that comes in the box with most 360s – you can have your console display its gamey goodness on two TVs simultaneously. The trick is to flick the cable's switch to Standard Definition but hook up the composite (yellow) cable to one screen and the component (the red, green, blue) cables to another. It won't be high-def, but it could be handy if you're staging a mini LAN party and want to set up a display for bored spectators to point their eyes at.

2. Play your own music in original Xbox games

That you can fire up your own MP3s during a 360 game is common knowledge (and re-soundtracking moody horror games with the Benny Hill theme tune never stops being funny), but it doesn't work if you're playing a title from the original Xbox. There's a way around it – start playing your album or playlist before you load the game, and it'll keep on playing once you do fire the title up. The game's own music won't be muted, however, so if you can't do that in its settings you'll go mad from the weird cacophony.

3. It can write its own blog

Ah, the internet – founded upon crazy men making crazy things for free. Such as a blog supposedly written by your 360, based on what you've been using it for. It monitors your Live account and automatically generates entries about what it's been up to that day (or what it hasn't been up to – expect many posts about neglect if you don't turn it on for a while). The tone is very much American geek, but it's a fun record of your own gaming habits, and of keeping an eye on what your chums are up to. Get set up at www.360voice.com.

4. Play Xbox 360 games online for free – without a Live account

That you have to pay a subscription for online gaming, something that's free on other consoles and on the PC, is perhaps the 360's greatest bugbear. Stage your own form of peaceful process by playing online without paying a penny. You'll need XLink Kai, a free app you run from a PC on the same network as the console that tricks the 360 into thinking the internet is a LAN.

So it'll treat remote opponents as though they're in the same room as you – and you don't have to pay for local multiplayer. Clever! One snag – Microsoft has set the 360 to boot out anyone with a ping higher than 30ms, so you'll have to be selective about who you play with. Local chums are best, not your Chinese penpal.

5. Interact with your Xbox 360 music

Hit X whilst playing a music CD or file (whether from the 360's hard drive, an MP3 player you've plugged in, or streamed from a PC) and you'll enter Psychedelic Wonderland. Well, some artful visualisations, anyway. Grab a controller or two (or up to four, as it happens) and start moving thumbpads and pressing buttons to interact with the crazed shifting colours. There are actually some fairly elaborate controls – read the full manual at http://www.llamasoft.co.uk/x360manual.php. Good at parties, this.

6. Connect your Xbox 360 to a wireless network without an official adaptor

The good news is you don't have to drop £50 on Microsoft's offensively overpriced Wi-Fi adaptor. The bad news is you'll need a laptop with W-Fi to do it. Head to Control Panel – Network Connections (In Windows XP) or Network & Sharing Center – Manage Network Connections (in Vista). Select the Local Area Connection and the Wireless Network Connection at once, then right-click and hit 'bridge connections'.

Disconnect then reconnect to your wireless network, run a network cable from the laptop's Ethernet port to the 360's, and you should be good to go. Unfortunately, you may have to remove the bridge (repeat the above process and you'll see the option) whenever you want to browse the net with the laptop.

7. Play music from your iPod

Not a secret as such, but Microsoft doesn't exactly shout about the fact it plays nice with a device made by uber-rival Apple. Hidden in the depths of the Marketplace, you'll find a teeny download called 'optional iPod support'. Once you've grabbed that, plug in your iPod (iPhones aren't supported yet, sadly) and head to the Media Blade. You'll see your pod appear there, and can now browse its music by album, artist, genre or whatever. It'll also charge via the USB port, usefully.

8. Reset your Xbox 360 video settings

Remember this one if you're in the habit of carrying your console to chum's houses and hooking it up to different displays. It can end up trying to output the wrong signal, so you can't see anything or get a flickering screen. Fortunately, there's a fairly simple fix if this happens. Remove any discs from the tray and turn the thing off. Then turn it on using a gamepad. As it boots, hold down the Y button, then hit and hold the right trigger. The video settings will reset to default, and you'll stop your sobbing.

9. Play any media file, plus online videos on your Xbox 360

Free app Tversity neatly sidesteps the pointless video/audio restrictions Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo alike slap on their consoles, making them able to play any format. Again, you'll need a PC on the same network, but it's a simple matter of installing the program and having it scan the folders you keep your media in. It'll replace the standard network file-sharing system Windows uses, but behaves pretty much the same way at the 360's end. As well as that, it'll convert unsupported files on the fly – though you'll need a pretty beefy PC to do this with large video files, otherwise you'll be waiting ages. You can also add online video URLs on the PC's end – including Youtube – and then access those from the console.

10. Use any HDMI cable and still get digital surround sound

Though the newer 360s have an HDMI output for optimal video quality, they've built the ports in such a way that you can't have the standard component/composite video cable, with its crucial optical audio output, plugged in at the same time as HDMI. Instead, you're supposed to drop a frightening amount of money on the official HDMI cable with audio adapter. Balls to that. See the big plastic box at the end of the standard video cable that connects to the console? Wedge a knife or screwdriver into the join and twist to pop it off. The result looks messy, but is small enough to plug in alongside a standard, cheapo HDMI cable.

By Alec Meer (Posted by N4G.com)

Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-71685650043494533562008-09-11T03:40:00.000-07:002008-09-11T03:42:58.715-07:00Microsoft 360 Sales Double After Price Cut!
Sept. 10 -- Microsoft Corp. doubled sales of the Xbox 360 video game machine last weekend after cutting the price by as much as 29 percent to narrow Nintendo Co.'s lead.

Retailers reported a 100 percent increase in sales for all models compared with the previous weekend, Redmond, Washington- based Microsoft said in an e-mailed statement. Xbox Product Manager Germany Boris Schneider-Johne states in a utmost interesting interview with Golem.de that this won't be the case for the majority of 360 games.

We now allow the customer to install games on their hard drive. In a statement issued today, Microsoft confirmed that Ensemble will be shut down once the Xbox 360-exclusive RTS set in the best-selling Halo franchise ships out early next year.
"The team at Ensemble has made invaluable contributions to the games industry with their Age of Empires and Age of Mythology games and with the highly anticipated release of Halo Wars," the publisher said in a statement. "This decision does not reflect at all on Ensemble’s talent or the quality of Halo Wars--in fact, many people who have had a chance to test drive Halo Wars agree that it is on track to being a fantastic game."

Though Microsoft will close the studio, Ensemble brass plan to soldier on. As part of today's statement, Microsoft said that Ensemble's "leadership team" will form a new development house, and has already entered into an agreement with the publisher to continue supporting Halo Wars post-launch, "as well as work on other projects with Microsoft Game Studios."

Commenting on the reason for the closure, Microsoft said, "This was a fiscally rooted decision that keeps MGS on its growth path. While the decision to dissolve Ensemble was not an easy one, Microsoft is working to place as many Ensemble employees who do not move to the newly formed studio into open positions within Microsoft as possible."

As noted earlier today, the Age of Empires brand has sold more than 20 million units since the first installment debuted on the PC in 1997. According to the NPD Group, Ages of Empires III for the PC has sold 1.15 million units in the US alone through July 2008, with The Warchiefs expansion tallying nearly 305,000 more. (The second expansion, Asian Dynasties, was developed by Rise of Nations creators Big Huge Games.)
Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-13144540425768061312008-09-09T12:15:00.000-07:002008-09-09T12:28:57.551-07:00How to Upgrade your Xbox 360's External Hard Disk!A link to a video on YouTube that shows the procedures on how to upgrade your Xbox 360's external hard disk.

Warning!!!

You will void your warranty by doing this, so be 100 percent sure.

Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-52145766719826925142008-09-08T15:52:00.000-07:002010-11-17T17:20:32.078-08:00Boy Kills Himself Acting out Halo 3!Another alleged videogame related death. This time involving the popular Xbox shooter Halo. 11 year old Johnson Creek boy Nimm was apparently a big fan of Halo, even taking a liking to firearms after playing the futuristic FPS. While at home skipping school Nimm was apparently trying to imitate moves from the game with his .22 caliber rifle (a common pastime for the child). However he did not obviously grasp that a round could still be loaded in the chamber even when the magazine ejected and was found shot through the head yesterday.

An 11-year-old Johnson Creek boy died from a gunshot wound Thursday at his home. The deceased person was Joshua J. The cause of death was ruled to be a single, .22 caliber gunshot wound to the head.

Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com24tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-11504539188998654562008-09-07T14:10:00.000-07:002008-09-07T14:13:08.116-07:00Is the Wii's Solution a Hard Drive or Not?!In the latest issue of Club Nintendo - a Spanish Nintendo magazine - Reggie Fils-Aime and Shigeru Miyamoto shed light on some interesting questions. First, and perhaps most importantly, Fils-Aime reaffirmed Nintendo’s commitment to investigating a storage solution. However, Fils-Aime confirmed that it isn’t necessarily a hard drive. Reggie’s words are roughly translated to the following: “We are working on a storage solution and it is especially important in America because our consumers are using Wii Points for the Virtual Console and WiiWare. I want the people to have the right expectations; We have never said that it will be a hard drive nor have we mentioned how we will fix this issue, but we are going to deliver a better way to store the games.” Miyamoto added that gamers should expect an announcement in the future, as Nintendo is researching different technologies to provide Wii owners with some sort of relief.
Between the two, a few more tidbits were shared. As has been previously reported, a new Zelda is indeed in development for the Wii. Although, Miyamoto noted that the new title has not been shown (will not be shown, rather) until the team is confident in the level of development they are in. So basically, when the game is ready to be unveiled to the public, Nintendo will do so.

Other news includes: Miyamoto said that there are enough peripherals for the Wii so we shouldn’t expect too many more. Fils-Aime commented yet again on hardcore gamers feeling left out of this year’s E3 press conference and explained that there’s GTA for the DS and that Animal Crossing is a hardcore game.

Last but not least: No Wii demos on the Nintendo Channel, no DS redesign until sales slowdown, and Reggie Fils-Aime is flattered more than anything in regards to Microsoft’s recent announcements over Xbox Live avatars. New Pikmin confirmed once again. Miyamoto wouldn’t say whether or not we’ll see another Zelda game on the DS.
Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-48447684508812341332008-09-05T12:34:00.001-07:002008-09-05T12:38:09.631-07:00Xbox 360 Hard Drive gets Price Cut!Now that the Xbox 360 line-up has been giving a serious price gutting in the US of A, the cuts continue, with the 120GB hard drive seeing a $30 reduction. Previously at $179, it would have been an even harder prospective purchase for anyone picking up a $199 Xbox 360 Arcade. The hard drive add on is now slightly more reasonably* priced at $149 at both EBGames and Amazon. The Expensive hard drive was as mentioned earlier $179 and highly overpriced. Of course $149 is a big drop, but I wouldn't expect to much more effort from Microsoft to get things going. But reader Draco, a Silver level gamer, says that he's been playing cross-platform multiplayer games for free since Wednesday night, which precedes the Live Weekend (which started at midnight Friday.) I checked his Gamercard and, yeah, he played Shadowrun online on Thursday.
It seems that ending the gold/silver distinction in Games for Windows Live (effectively making it free) might have had the same effect for those who game on titles that are both PC and 360. A commenter on Xbox Live forums found that Shadowrun online play was free, for example. Reader Draco, who spotted this, says it works for Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition and Universe at War: Earth Assault, too.

We'll have to check back after the weekend ends. But bigger picture, could this — don't get your hopes up, but it's gotta be on everyone's mind — mean that Xbox Live may eventually convert to a free model for all multiplayer gaming too?
Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-12592880410057028382008-07-27T09:38:00.000-07:002008-07-27T09:46:25.391-07:00Linked Achievements for Gears of War 2Gears of War 2 made yet another appearance just recently and was said to be getting linked achievements. What exactly are linked achievements? As simply as its name, linked achievements are things you can get in Gears of War 2 for what you did in the original game. Some excellent examples are these right here.

- Complete Act 1 in GOW, unlock Anthony Carmine in Gears of War 2
- Find 10 COG tags in GOW, unlock Minh Young Kim in Gears of War 2

With this new idea for achievements, it brings the gaming community back to experience the good stuff with the original games. It's like completing Halo 2 on Legendary and getting to be a brute in Halo 3 Campaign. That sounds pretty cool to me. I'm just wondering what other linked achievements there will be for the near future.Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-15744409440024302742008-07-26T09:34:00.000-07:002008-07-26T12:46:49.206-07:00Microsoft - Bungie Split? As we all know, or should know, Microsoft decided to NOT show Bungie's new halo game a week back during E3. In an effort to save valuable E3 time, Microsoft did not let Bungie show their new game, that they ARE developing. Many said that the conference was going to be around 3 hours but ended up being 90 minutes.

Bungie has always been (or at least have appeared) to be concerned about their fan's happiness. Not until after E3 did they realize that they disappointed their fans who were awaiting the Halo news. Of course this caused quite a bit of clatter and chat between Microsoft and Bungie. Well you may say that's odd, why weren't they concerned before E3? When Microsoft informed Bungie that their Halo time got the "boot", they weren't too concerned until they noticed they were not helping the welfare of their fans.

Speaking about fans, Bungie President was quoted saying this about the incident, “Keeping things clean, I certainly didn’t agree with the decision to delay our news until sometime after E3. Bungie is always concerned first and foremost with our fans. Whenever we are prevented from exceeding their positive expectations it is not a laughing matter."

As you can see, Ryan Harold wasn't exactly happy with the decision and the Microsoft-Bungie relationship is not going so swell as of right now. Hopefully things get better soon or there could be some major changes.

Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4626283351379578005.post-36905678261506499062008-07-18T21:52:00.001-07:002008-07-19T05:47:45.393-07:00Join Me as I attempt to get the Most Diggs Ever Before I Leave for a Week. All I have to say is... For example, we all expected to see Microsoft attempt to clear up their name with all the bad Windows games they had released; unfortunately, nothing near that occured.

On most occasions, E3 is an event that keeps everyone busy, but without anytalk about PC's and such, one group was left alone. This year PC gamers did not have anything to take out of E3. Even though some were left out, it was not all bad. On the good side, there were some good previews of the Xbox 360’s attempt to look like Wii, PS3 trying to add Wii like features, and the Wii itself trying to displease the hardcore gaming fan base. Those things aside, many were waiting for the big PC gaming announcement... but it ceased to exist. (Check out my other posts for more on Microsoft copying others.

According to the IGN global director, E3 is the battle of the consoles... at least that is what us fans consider it to be. The time spent on stage is not about what is going to be released it is about how fellow consoles will crush each other in the competition. The PC is rather a software enabled device rather than a major gaming console. Now if it is a gaming console, it would have gotten more time at E3.

The bit of hope that is still out there is that the global director mentioned that 2 weeks before, they had gone to San Francisco and talked about new games, their releases, and so on. This was the only glimpse that Microsoft had not shut down their gaming line for PC's only because Vista users had already made the switch.Andrew Rodgershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03446695827256804655noreply@blogger.com0
